I encourage you to embrace every learning opportunity, collaborate with your peers, engage actively in practical sessions, and leverage the resources available to you. Your dedication today will lay the groundwork for the infrastructure of tomorrow JOIN NOW!!! WHY CHOOSE US BUILDING TECHNOLOGY Building Technology is a comprehensive field that focuses on the scientific principles, technical processes, and practical methods involved in the planning, design, construction, operation, maintenance, and even deconstruction of buildings and other built structures. It’s a multidisciplinary domain that bridges the gap between architectural vision and the physical reality of construction. Building Technology professionals play a critical role in bringing architectural designs to life, ensuring that structures are not only aesthetically pleasing but also structurally sound, functionally efficient, cost-effective, and sustainable. They are involved at every stage of a project, from initial planning and material selection to on-site construction supervision and post-completion maintenance. \u00a0 \u00a0 PLUMBING & WATER ENGINEERING Water Engineering (often referred to as Water Resources Engineering or Hydraulic Engineering, a sub-discipline of Civil Engineering) is a much broader field that focuses on the management, control, and utilization of water resources at a larger scale, often for communities, regions, or even nations. It deals with the entire water cycle, from its source to its ultimate discharge or reuse. Plumbing primarily deals with the design, installation, maintenance, and repair of water and waste systems within buildings. It’s focused on the efficient and safe distribution of potable (drinkable) water, the removal of wastewater, and sometimes the handling of gas lines and heating systems within a specific structure OUR COURSES Check on our available courses BUILDING TECHNOLOGY LEVEL 3,4,5 & 6 Building Technology levels in Kenya, typically structured within the TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) framework, offer a progressive pathway in construction skills. Level 3 (Artisan\/Entry Certificate) focuses on foundational practical skills like basic masonry and carpentry, tool use, and fundamental safety for entry-level site work. Level 4 (Craft Certificate) expands on this, introducing more specialized trades, intermediate blueprint reading, and basic site operations. Moving to Level 5 (Diploma), the curriculum broadens to encompass more advanced construction techniques, basic building services, quantity surveying, and an introduction to project management, preparing individuals for supervisory roles. Finally, Level 6 (Higher Diploma\/Technologist) represents the highest technical and managerial qualification, covering complex structural solutions, advanced building services design, comprehensive project management, contract administration, and the use of modern construction technologies like BIM, equipping graduates for senior technical and management positions in the industry. CIVIL ENGINEERING LEVEL 6 This level equips individuals with advanced skills to meet the specific demands of the construction sector, going beyond theoretical knowledge to emphasize demonstrable abilities. The curriculum, developed in collaboration with industry players through Sector Skills Advisory Committees (SSACs), covers core competencies such as conducting material testing, designing various engineering structures (including basic pavement and water infrastructure), carrying out road and building works, managing water resources quality, and handling overall civil engineering projects. Assessment is heavily practical and continuous, focusing on the trainee’s ability to perform tasks to industry standards, ensuring graduates are job-ready and possess the precise skills required for roles as site engineers, project coordinators, or specialized technicians, and can adapt to evolving industry needs. PLUMBING LEVEL 3,4,5 & 6 Plumbing Level 3 (Artisan Certificate) focuses on foundational practical skills, including basic pipe installation, sanitary appliance fixing, and fundamental system maintenance, alongside essential workplace safety. Plumbing Level 4 (Craft Certificate) builds on this with more complex pipework, advanced sanitary installations, and an introduction to water storage and pumping systems, enabling trainees to handle a wider range of typical plumbing tasks. Plumbing Level 5 (Diploma) shifts towards a more comprehensive understanding, encompassing detailed planning, material quantification, troubleshooting advanced domestic and potentially light commercial plumbing systems, and an introduction to site supervision and quality control. Finally, Plumbing Level 6 (Higher Diploma\/Technologist) represents the pinnacle of plumbing expertise within TVET, covering the design, installation, maintenance, and management of complex plumbing and drainage systems for large-scale residential, commercial, or industrial projects, often involving advanced hydraulics, sustainable plumbing solutions, and supervisory or project management responsibilities. QUANTITY SURVEY LEVEL 6 This level emphasizes practical competency in tasks such as comprehensive cost estimation, precise bills of quantities (BOQ) preparation for complex building and civil engineering works, effective contract administration, and robust project financial management. Graduates are equipped with skills in tendering and procurement, construction economics, value engineering, and applying relevant construction law and regulations. The training ensures they can accurately forecast costs, control expenditure throughout the project lifecycle, mitigate financial risks, and advise stakeholders, making them highly capable professionals for roles as site quantity surveyors, estimators, cost consultants, or assistant project managers in the dynamic Kenyan construction industry.","thumbnail_url":"https:\/\/bometcentraltvc.ac.ke\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/IMG-20250605-WA0021.jpg"}
